Raptors 'leery' of Pau Gasol?

04:41 PM ET 12.17 | The Toronto Raptors are expected to make big moves, but it doesn't appear that anything is on the horizon for a few reasons. For one, disappointing forward Andrea Bargnani is currently out with an elbow injury, and it's hard to believe that a team will take him on before he returns to the court. For another, they don't seem to be too enamored with Lakers big man Pau Gasol, who is continually involved in trade rumors. "The Raptors, sources say, are leery of taking a flier on yet another international player, despite Gasol's obvious and longstanding talents," writes NBA.com's David Aldridge.

I actually think that that'd be a pretty decent trade for both sides.

why in the world would the raps want to take on an aging big man when they are SOOOOOOOOOOOOOO far from beign copetetive-move AB and jose for picks/kids, not a guy with a bloated contract on the down side

Because the GM hasn't drafted a single player worthwhile

That would be great, right alongside the new NHL team; the Markham Anything-is-better-then-the-crappy-Leafs.

I personally would make the trade for pau gasol for a number of reasons. For starters there isn't much talent in this draft. secondly, pau is a major upgrade over bargnani which will equal more wins and thirdly with lowy being a free agent a playoff berth or atleast a challenge for the last playoff berth can convince lowry to stay there.

Why would Cleveland make that trade?
