04:44 PM ET 12.17 | Golden State Warriors' power forward David Lee was named the NBA's Western Conference Player of the Week for the week of Dec. 10-16. Lee averaged 22.8 points and 12.5 rebounds in four games during that span, as the Warriors won three of those games and went 6-1 on their seven-game road trip. He registered at least 20 points and 10 rebounds in all four games. Lee, who is generally regarded as one of the most underrated players in the league, is averaging 19.2 points and 11.5 rebounds this season. He was acquired from the Knicks by the Warriors before the 2010-2011 season in a trade.

David Lee had a great year last year, but the Warriors sucked. This year he is even playing better. A very tough player that doesnt back away from anyone.

The Warriors are still playing 3 guards, small forward and a power forward in a lot of their minutes. Just playing a different style of ball. Everyone is rebounding. Even Curry is rebounding or boxing out. Warriors have had plenty of big men, but the run and gun style of play hurt players and was so bad for defense. Don Nelson is finally gone!!!

Not like Amare is a "Franchise" player or a piece of the puzzle. Every time he has been hurt the Knicks have been playing better ball. He is more a problem than piece of the puzzle.
Franchise player is an overrated term in today's NBA. If anything, Lee is more of a Franchise player than Amare. You can build a team around Lee, you cant do that with Amare. It's not the skills but the attitude. Lee will do anything the coach tells him to do. Typical Knicks attitude lost them the game against Houston. Ego drove that game. Felton and Smith trying to prove a point, but they forgot about just playing team ball.
Lee is not focused on the stat sheet, but just winning. He works his ass off, second in double doubles this season, motivating his team mates, being a leader, guarding anyone he has too, setting an example and so much more.... that actually sounds like a franchise player. Well doing more than sitting on the bench in a suit and tie.
