04:47 PM ET 12.17 | The Dallas Mavericks appear to be stuck in the dreaded middle of the NBA with Dirk Nowitzki still out, hoping to just make the playoffs and get bounced in the first round. However, owner Mark Cuban did not budge when asked whether now was the time for Dallas to rebuild, pointing to Nowitzki's eventual return as the reason not to panic. "We're not ready to go there,??? Cuban said. ???Look, I'm always the one who says there's nothing worse than winning 41 games. That's no-man's land. You can't get a good pick. And I don't see that for us yet. Look at it the other way. If we were stumbling along like this and all of the sudden we made a big trade for a German guy for nothing, everyone would say, 'Oh, let???s see where we can take it.' So we'll see. We'll see what happens."

He's only saying this because he thinks Dwight Howard will come to Dallas in the off season and he may be on to something with that way of thinking.
