06:04 PM ET 12.17 | Steve Nash took a major step forward in his road to recovery from a small fracture in his left leg. The Lakers' guard practiced for the first time since suffering the injury in early-November, and while it wasn't a high-impact practice, he did still get up and down the court full speed. "Hopefully I can play by Christmas," said Nash. "We'll see how it responds this week. Today we didn't do any 5-on-5 or contact."

All involved hope he returns by Christmas, not just Nash.

Even with Nash and Gasol, that's a long ways off. It will take some time to build chemistry. I think that there will be an initial spurt of excitement and good play, but it's going to take some time to get healthy, work into shape, and build up that rapport with everyone.

None, really. I don't honestly think that their starting line-up was ever on the floor together in the pre-season. Dwight, Kobe and Pau all missed games.

It's fewer than 60, and that's not the entire problem. If it takes too long, they could be wind up playing the best basketball in the league and still not make the post-season. They are falling pretty far behind at this rate.

Not as hurt as the fans that watched that comedy routine.

I know Nash is thinking, Damn I didn't go the Raptors because I didn't want to lose games but I'm with the Lakers losing games. Ah I reckon I should have went back to Canada.

No, that's not what I meant. I was talking more along the lines of when Nash is actually coming back. I've heard Christmas at the earliest, and that's another two games away, but that's the best-case-scenario.

That's true. The key is after his return, everyone else has to stay healthy. If that happens, the Lakers will be in good shape going into the playoffs.

Highly doubt it. Nobody in the their right mind wants to go to Canada.
