08:04 AM ET 12.18 | That the AFC South belongs to Houston doesn't obscure the fact the Colts have so much awaiting them in the coming weeks. The perfect scenario for the Colts involves clinching a playoff berth Sunday at Kansas City, then being reunited the next day with coach Chuck Pagano. ... The target date for Pagano's return has been the Dec. 30 regular-season finale against the Texans at Lucas Oil Stadium. Interim coach Bruce Arians said Monday that is "still up in the air. Later this week, hopefully, we'll be able to know something for sure." Pagano, he added, "feels great. Looks good. (Blood) counts were good. We've got our fingers crossed." If Pagano feels up to returning, he probably would do so Monday when preparations for the final game begin.

In a year that's seen more than its share of tragedies in the NFL, this is one feel-good story that I'm glad we've had all season.

But, the Colts aren't going far in the playoffs. Next year, maybe.

I could see them knocking off the AFC North champ in the first round if the schedule works out that way, but I agree that's about as far as they go.

Good first year performance. Gives the Colts something to build from even more.

He should win the award straight up. Worst record in the league to the playoffs? And under the circumstances he took over under? Easiest award to give out in my opinion.

I completely agree. Most open-and-shut case for an award this year.
