08:14 AM ET 12.18 | Nate Silver may have the market cornered on poll research, but even an informal poll can still come in handy. As the Toronto Blue Jays' acquisition of R.A. Dickey raised the question once more -- What in the name of Joe Carter is going on in the American League East? -- I asked 20 trusted scouts and executives around the game to give me their predictions on which teams will finish first (and last) in baseball's most-talked-about division. ... Among my findings: ... The Industry views the Blue Jays as the clear frontrunner. They received 13 of 20 votes, or 65 percent. Offseason blockbusters tend to have that effect -- even for a team that last made the playoffs in Year 1 of the Clinton administration. ... The Industry thinks the 2012 Orioles were a fluke.

You forgot to ask the most important people the T&R folks to make their predictions. I think the Jays will make the playoffs as a wild cared team not winning the division.

I believe you just copied and pasted your prediction from the last two years. Even a broken clock is right twice day.

Devil Rays? They dropped that name a few years ago.

For what it is worth Yanks, Jays, Rays, O's and Sox. But ya know what? This prediction and eveyone else's prediction are nothing but a bunch of personal opinion that are tinged with personal bias. So, as my friend Moses is wont to say, "Just play the games."

That's what happens when you copy and paste without reading.

I see the mods removed stupidmoron's comment (#2). Even the mods are getting tired of his nonsense.

personal musical tastes aside: that elicited a smile from my face on this dank and dreary morning.

The Orioles are not winning all those one run and extra inning games next year.

I'm sure these are the same scout idiots that said last season the Phillies will make the WS!

They were hot regarding playing the close ones. While they may be able to maintain a high percentage relative to the league (because of all the experience they had last year) - I think you are right - it won't be a much as last year.
