Why Malzahn can save Auburn's recruiting class

08:20 AM ET 12.18 | It didn't take long before many pieces of Gene Chizik's recruiting class were also history at Auburn. But here's the good part for Auburn fans: No hire the Tigers could have made would have a better chance of keeping the core of this recruiting class intact than Gus Malzahn. ... Malzahn's style of offense will fit many of [the prospects in this recruiting class] better than the pro-style attack toward which the Tigers had drifted under Scot Loeffler. It'll also be a better fit for most of the offensive players already on the roster -- particularly quarterbacks Kiehl Frazier and Jonathan Wallace. And there's a chance that Malzahn, now that he's got his feet on the ground in Auburn, might be able to lure a couple of the defectors back to the fold.

Coming up, I heard, but not sure what day.

Malzahn may be able to keep any offensive recruits, but I'm pretty sure the defensive side knows what to expect and a lot won't like it.

Hate to lose anyone, but I was kinda expecting it to happen. Things will settle out when AU hires a DL coach and the rest of the assistant coaches and that should solidify things. Malzhan is also going after some new recruits that the old administration was not interested in.

Auburn will be looking for a new coach again in 3 years.
