02:46 PM ET 12.18 | Ken Whisenhunt is still the head coach of the Arizona Cardinals, but that doesn't mean there haven't been talks of replacing him. The name that has popped up the most is Pittsburgh Steelers' offensive coordinator Todd Haley, according to CBS Sports. The Cardinals lost nine-straight games before finally halting the streak on Sunday. The streak was primarily the culprit of an inept offensive unit that couldn't balance out a solid defense. Haley has produced results as the Steelers' offensive coordinator following his firing as head coach of the Kansas City Chiefs. Haley served as the offensive coordinator for the Cardinals when they went to the Super Bowl. Haley is still a favorite of the Cardinals organization and his familiarity would make for a smoother transition than with other coaches. But the Cardinals still owe Whisenhunt $5.5 million on his contract, so whether or not they are willing to take that financial hit will be a major consideration in whether Whisenhunt stays or not.

But, but, but, didn't he suck when he was the HC at Kansas City?

I know. "But Kansas City had no talent."

OK, so the Cardinals have more?

Haley can't leave the Steelers. Ben would have to find a new scapegoat.

Yes, so he'll be demanding a much smaller paycheck than the rest of the field. That counts for a lot in Phoenix.

Makes perfect sense....to Bidwell

There in lies the problem. Bidwell is cheap. Haley would certainly be cheap but for Bidwell to cough up $5 million is out of the question. Wisenhut will get his last season.

On the game's recap, the guy who made that pick in OT said he was expecting that play because he knew Haley from KC. Basically starting 3 RBs? Not using Miller as much as we should. I say just let Big Ben go to no-huddle whenever he'd like, if that's the pace this offense needs to set to be effective.

But I doubt Haley gets pushed out of town after just one year. He needs to teach Roethlisberger the theory behind the offense so they can get on the same page.

Not likely, Haley won't be canned after one season, and Arizona should be wary of luring away Steeler Coaches after Whisenhunt and Grimm

Quick Arizona, pull in the welcome mat!!!

December 18, 2012  08:57 PM ET

Haley needs to go. Passing yards per game is the lowest since 2008. Rushing yards per game is the lowest since 2003. Time of possession is the lowest since 2008. Turnover ratio is the worst, at -14 since 2002. The only thing that is up is Ben's passer rating and that's because Haley likes the dink and dunk stuff so there would be more short completions to pad that stat. This guy was no good in KC and he certainly isn't needed in Pittsburgh. Wherever he lands would be better off without this guy.

All the Cardinals just felt a disturbance in the Force. Sounds like something Bid-low would do, though. Got a team in disarray? Why not throw some cheap gas on that fire?

December 19, 2012  03:14 PM ET

It doesn't matter what is said publicly. If Ben & Haley don't work well together, Haley is outta Pittsburgh, and may land in Arizona.

Probably a little more on the defensive side of the ball.....but the Bidwills are not smart enough to take into consideration that he sucked in KC.
