03:41 PM ET 12.18 | Florida State's brought on a pair of former Alabama assistants to replace its losses on the defensive side of its coaching staff. Former defensive backs coach Jeremy Pruitt and former linebackers coach Sal Sunseri worked together at Bama under defensive coordinator Kirby Smart, but the younger Pruitt is now in charge of the elder Sunseri -- Sunseri's also the only one of the two with BCS defensive coordinator experience, having held that job last year at Tennessee.

Thank you, FSU for giving Sunseri a job. Hopefully, that means UTK is relieved from paying him any further.

As for Pruitt getting the shot over Sunseri, well, it could be due to Sal's first gig as DC - UTK 2012.

FSU will be just fine, as long as Jimbo's at the helm. As a 'Nole, I'm fine with these hires. Especially with Pruitt as DC.

Sunseri has kept himself from ever getting an HC job with that clusterfudge of a job he did at UTk this year.

FSU will be just fine, as long as we stay in the ACC. As a 'Nole, I'm fine with these hires. Especially since we seemed destined for perpetual mediocrity.

If you saw Tennessee play defense this season, then you could argue that Sal Sunseri still has no experience as a defensive coordinator. That was a seriously uncoordinated effort.

No, but it softens the blow. I doubt they are paying him as much as Tennessee did-- he's due $1.84M total in installments through the 2014 season.
Glad he got a job.
