07:55 AM ET 12.19 | The clock is ticking on Tebow Time. [Rex Ryan's decision to start Greg McElroy] was a stunning referendum not only on Sanchez, once believed to be the future of the franchise, but also backup Tim Tebow. ... The Daily News has learned that Tebow, who captivated the NFL last season with his miracle playoff run in Denver, will request to be traded or released after the season assuming that McElroy starts the final two games of the season. Tebow's desire to part ways with a franchise that never gave him a chance came to a head after McElroy, who has seven career passes on his NFL resume, leapfrogged him, according to a source. "I want to put Greg out there," Ryan said on Tuesday.

Tebow keeper.... He runs the ball head first into the pile for 1 yard...
Tebow throw away (or maybe not)... Throws the ball 20 yards out of bounds... Nice spiral though.

Jax would be his best option - basically only part of the country he has any followers.

Somebody stuffed Ryan's wallet to make sure Tebow looked worse than he is (if that's even possible) so his run in the sun will end. He has twice as many haters as fans.

Sanchez = Another NFL USC QB bust. Barkley Bidders Beware. Tebow = Season long Wildcat decoy by Jets. Who's picking the groceries? Front Office and Coaching staff just not a same page.

I believe Ryan was never part of the decision to bring Tebow in, so he refused to use him in any way that would make it look like it was a good decision. All the more reason to get rid of Ryan and get someone in that's not trying to prove a point to the owner/GM

I think this is the crux. Tebow can be a solid QB in the NFL - he has the intangibles, he can run, and is passing is suspect. Now I know all the NFL fans seem to be stuck on the one aspect of his game that sucks. But the other aspects are solid and he has proven he can help a team win - including the playoffs. That will never be taken away. He helped inspire the Broncos - that cannot be a quality so easily dismissed.
Remember - Trent Dilfer (NOT a Great QB) even has a ring. Why - he took care of the ball, didn't make major mistakes, and had a great defense that he didn't put into automatic lose situations by mishandling the ball over and over.
The reason people don't like Tebow - The Media Hype (for an average QB with great athletic skills), and his willingness to not HIDE his beliefs (which people don't want to see).

What's the value of a FB/TE hybrid who thinks he's a QB?

It today's NFL a QB HAS to pass the ball.... Bottom line. The problem with Tebow is he was never developed as a real QB in college, and is in over his head in the NFL. The Jets organization failed with Sanchez too, in similar ways. He had a decent arm in college, but the Jets organization hasn't done anything to develop his skills any better. In his first two seasons, he was coached to "not lose the game", instead of winning/leading as a QB has to. With the signing of Tebow, it took a turn for the worse. A team that clearly can't develop a QB taking one that has NO QB'ing skills made no sense.
Blow the whole thing up.

Also his "beliefs" have nothing to do with his performance on the field.
