08:09 AM ET 12.19 | When the free-agent market opened, Brian Cashman prioritized pitching for the Yankees, eventually signing Andy Pettitte, Mariano Rivera and Hiroki Kuroda. Now, after signing Kevin Youkilis to play third in Alex Rodriguez's absence and close to announcing Ichiro Suzuki's two-year contract, Cashman is looking for a right-handed hitting outfielder and a DH. "I'm open to whatever, whether talking to [free agents] or other clubs," Cashman said when asked if one position took priority over the other. "Whether it's now or June, at some point we'll have it." Cashman also said, "We are talking to Raul Ibanez and his agent." Ibanez, who hit 19 homers in the regular season and three more in October, is drawing interest from the Rangers, Mariners and Phillies.

Ibanez would be an idiot to sign with anyone else but the Yankees. The short RF in Yankee stadium is made for him.

If he signs with the Yankees, he will capitalise on his Playoff HR's!!!!

I though A-Rod was going to DH when he comes back from his hip-replacement surgery? That spot in the lineup is getting pretty crowded.

a-rod has a long way to go, hip replacement its a tough procedure,,

You are an idiot. I hate the Yanks. I am okay if the Sox don't win, as long as the Yankees don't either.

At least you're okay when the White Sox win, which is all that really matters.
