08:13 AM ET 12.19 | Even if there are some Crimson Tide fans fretting over Nick Saban, at least one important player in the mix isn't. Alabama athletic director Mal Moore can look back on his conversations with [Saban] and feel good about keeping the three-time national championship-winning coach with the Crimson Tide even as rumored NFL opportunities arise. Moore knows how Saban views the pro game and doesn't believe it's a place he'll return without a drastic change of heart. "He's expressed to me on several occasions ... that he's happy here," Moore said. "He feels very comfortable, and I believe him." Moore once was in a similar circumstance, jumping from the college ranks to become an NFL assistant with the St. Louis Cardinals in 1986.

How about a new pic of Nick? Looks like he should be selling used cars.

I like the sound of that.
I am hoping Haslam comes through on this one.

Nickey's "process" doesn't work as well in the pros. Seems that damn draft gets in the way and tends to more equitably distribute talent than college recruiting does.

It's funny that our rivals are now openly hoping Coach Saban goes away. Sorry fellas, he's not.

Jason Taylor stated on Dan Lebatard exactly what I said about a week ago. You have to have a good QB in the NFL and trying to develop one or get one from the draft, "Well", he said, "Good luck with that."
He then went on to say, that Coach Saban can recruit good QBs (for college, obviously) every year.
Yes, it is easier in college in that sense.

That only matters after the last game has been played.

and Saban seems to be more interested in game manager type QB's. Highly efficient, not reckless with the ball, kinda guys who aren't going to win or lose the game for you typically.

Well... if you put too many of your eggs in the QB basket in college, you end up with what happened to USC. We try to run a very balanced game plan. If that makes the QB a game manager, then so be it.
You can hardly go wrong with right at a 50/50 split between running and passing yards. It certainly has worked pretty well for us for the last 5 years.

JK, very good point, but remember it's not Bama's offense that makes them so damn good, it's their defense!!!!

Not this year. Bama's offense is the better unit IMO.

If UTk had Saban and was pounding Bama's azzzzz yearly you'd be saying the same thing with every rumor.

UF has a statue of an opposing coach outside it's stadium. That has to be a first.

No great loss if he quits---- he never was one for keeping academic standards anyway....

Actually you just might have a good point there. If you go back to the Texas A&M game, Johnny and the Aggies burned Bama for over 400 total yards. That is why I'm taking Notre Dame and the 10 points.
