08:14 AM ET 12.19 | Though no official announcement has been made, all indications are that, instead of "Logan is where we need to be," Gary Andersen will be taking his talents from Utah State to Wisconsin. The Tribune has learned that Andersen began calling his players Tuesday night, telling them he had accepted the job. A source close to the USU athletic department said Andersen is expected to take most, if not all of his coaching staff with him to Madison. That explains in part why Aggie offensive coordinator Matt Wells and defensive coordinator Dave Aranda acknowledged Monday they had turned down jobs at North Carolina State and Texas Tech, respectively. Wells also could become a candidate to succeed Andersen in Logan.

"Taking my talents to Madison" doesn't have quite the same ring as "Taking my talents to South Beach."
Unless of course, Madison is a hot girl...

Pity USU and their fans. I don't think they'll find the likes of Andersen in their search to replace him. I hope that they find someone who can keep the program competitive.

It makes sense to me that Andersen wants to keep his staff intact and move them to Madison with him. We'll see how many make the trek and what hires Andersen will make after officially taking the helm at Wisconsin.

Kudos to Alvarez on this hire. It seems he took a tough situation and arguably traded up.

Alvarez will still coach the Rose Bowl. I wonder of Andersen will be in the booth, a suit, on the sidelines, or elsewhere.

I agree. Bielema did a very good job, but couldn't get them to finish with a win. This may prove to be a very big positive for Whiskey.

What's going on in Columbus?
Urban Meyer stood up the Dan Patrick show this morning, supposedly because a team meeting was running over. It's not like the guy's got a bowl game to prep for this month.
