07:25 PM ET 12.19 | Dallas Mavericks fans got some great news on Wednesday, as star forward Dirk Nowitzki participated in practice for the first time since undergoing knee surgery in October. Nowitzki likely won't return to game action until after Christmas, but the news is still good for Mavericks fans that have wondered about his progress. Nowitzki was initially supposed to miss 3-6 weeks, but it's now been about two months since he had the surgery.
