07:40 PM ET 12.19 | Ramon Session made what many felt was a curious decision over the summer, opting out of the final year of his contract with the Lakers, only to sign a two-year contract with the lowly Bobcats. Lakers GM Mitch Kupchak admitted that Sessions' decision helped facilitate the Lakers' ability to trade for Steve Nash. Sessions, meanwhile, finally explained why he made the decision to opt out. "I really didn't want to go into my contract year not knowing if I would be the starter, I would be the backup or that I'd be traded," he said.
