Dickey to Toronto brought the Mets a badly-needed catching prospect in Travis d'Arnaud, but did create a new hole in the starting rotation. The Mets will not replace their lost ace with a top pitcher, but are seeking a fifth starter. The Dickey trade re-opens the possibility that Chris Young could return to the Mets, as the team considers him among other options. As of today, the rotation is Johan Santana/Jon Niese/Matt Harvey/Dillon Gee/Jeremy Hefner. ... General manager Sandy Alderson mentioned during a WFAN interview this week that the team could pursue Francisco Liriano. According to a team insider, the Mets are also considering Young again.
