Austrian team sparks war of words over Brassard

08:24 AM ET 12.20 | Not all exits from overseas engagements will be clean ones, which Columbus Blue Jackets forward Derick Brassard is now finding out. The EC Red Bull Salzburg hockey club is seeking legal advice after [Brassard] became the latest NHL player to leave the Austrian team. The 25-year-old joined the team in November and had four goals and one assist in six games for Red Bull. The club said on its website on Wednesday that Brassard had assured them last week he would stay. "Red Bull will be notifying the IIHF of the player's breach of contract and will seek legal advice," the club statement said. ... Brassard's agent Allan Walsh fired back that NHL players left the team because of its "unprofessional' management," saying one player called the club "a joke."

If they are truly expecting NHL-type club setup, from ownership on down to the trainers, then these players are actually even dumber than they've proven themselves to be during the lockout, if that's even possible.
