05:00 PM ET 12.20 | Tennessee fans hoping for a quick turnaround thanks to hiring a new coach might be in for at least another year of rebuilding. With Justin Hunter and others leaving, the Vols' roster looks to be in right around the same shape it was when Derek Dooley took over, and we saw how that worked out.

Blame the incoming coach after a couple of years? WTF?
Give a new coach who inherits a bare cupboard at least three years to recruit his team, and maybe post a winning record. Not a BCS record, just a winning record and a minor bowl appearance.
Dooley must have had some other issues to cause his firing. He didn't inherit much and shouldn't have been expected to produce much.
It Tennessee does the same thing to the next coach in line it may have to ask itself what is going on here?

Dooley was incompetent running the program according to reports. Had terrible relationships with high school coaches and recruits, was arrogant with staff and never interacted with fans.

Jones has already done more in 2 weeks to connect with fans than Dooley did the 3 years he was there.

Butch Jones is not a good football coach. Tennessee lost on this loser.

Is it his 4 conference titles in 6 years of head coaching or his winning record that makes him a loser exactly?

Sweet baby Tebow me too. It's gonna take a few years though. Doesn't help that UTk plays Oregon, then a home and home with Oklahoma over the next 3 years. But to be the best, you have to beat the best.

Your use of the term "bUTch" is a nice step above the more recent UTerus tag being used for the Horns.

UTerus makes me a little queasy. :-/

Although it does give the impression of flannel wearing lesbians, it's a big step above bUTtchug U.

You can bet that your other FN friends will not let bUTtchug U go un-utilized.

Personally, I prefer not to use any mental imagery with that one. 8-/

This. Jones has proven he can assemble and keep a staff, coach and motivate players, and recruit. I hope that UTK's PTB give him 5 years to compete at the highest level of the SEC.

Perception is reality.

Tennessee has not been good for a few years now . . . expectations for a quick turnaround have to be lower.
