Mark Stoops considered a top college football hire

10:05 PM ET 12.20 | ESPN has released an article ranking the top 15 new college football hires, and coming in at No. 2 was the Kentucky Wildcats' hire of Florida State Defensive Coordinator Marks Stoops: The more I learn about the youngest of the three college-coaching Stoops brothers, the more I like about what Mitch Barnhart did in luring him to Lexington. Stoops turned around Florida State's defense in short order, which was impressive (and why he got the job), but I really like the way he's gone about hiring a young, respected staff. As Lexington columnist John Clay noted, Stoops is 45 and his staff has an average of 39.4 years old. But the relative age does not mean the assistants are bereft of accomplishments and praise. Defensive coordinator D.J. Eliot, 36, was a priority for Stoops. Eliot was his right-hand man in helping the FSU D go from 42nd in yards per game in 2010 to fourth in 2011 and second in 2012.

Apparently it's not enough to rank teams, we now have to know who made the best coaching hire. How big of an ego do you have to think you can rate fifteen guys who are just starting their new jobs? Maybe, just maybe, ESPN should let them start work before rating them and the AD's who hired them.

Really? How about we rank all the bad pics of coaches and players on FN?

+1.

Cheryl Tiegs is right up there, too. Oh, wait, isn't she a grandma now or somethin'...?

Special mention for guest swimsuit model, Beyonce in that orange suit. I do not think she's ever looked better.

If we go old school, Christie Brinkley. I had the fortune of having lunch with her some time ago, she was holding up very well.

I am totally jealous. I'd like to find out how well ALL of her is "holding up".

It's ESPN. They've taken "competition" to ridiculous levels. The top 15 best coaching hires is just as useless as their weekly "power rankings" (never mind the won-loss records). It appeals to the weak-minded who require constant validation ...

If she approached you for a date, would the fact that she's a grandma cause you to turn her down?!

I'll nominate Brooklyn Decker.
