Kaman: 'We don't have like a ton of plays'

08:05 AM ET 12.21 | By winning the fourth quarter, 34-19, Dallas kept the final score somewhat respectable in what was otherwise a blowout loss to the Heat. [Center Chris Kaman] diagnosed the issues the Mavs had Thursday succinctly. "They put a lot of pressure on you with the pick-and-rolls, and obviously we run a lot of pick-and-rolls," Kaman said. "That's kind of a part of our offense is the pick-and-rolls, and when that wasn't going well at the start we kind of got in a little funk. We don't have like a ton of plays to run, and we just kept kind of digging ourselves in a little bit of a hole on defense and then coming back and not getting plays." Ironically, a Mavs team that has been plagued by turnovers all season finally took care of the basketball.

Umm no. He is not right. Kaman all too often gets a Kobe complex and starts jackin up all sorts of shots. When he makes em no one cares, but when he doesn't, he might as well be turning the ball over like our PGs. Kaman plays weak D and can't jump to make a rebound. Heat took Mayo out of the game with a double team and NO ONE else stepped up to play. BTW, our point guards suck. That's the biggest reason. Fisher looks like a god send compared to the scrub PGs on the bench.

I like how everyone is ready to pass judgment with Dirk having played Zero minutes. Go ahead, the last time you morons did that we brought a trophy home.

QUOTE(#7):

Weird because there are only 3 comments before your comment! You're doing this on your own. Kaman is right on the money. Carlisle needs to put him on the low block more. Too many jump shots from everybody. He doesn't even use Kaman in the 4th qtr. Carlisle has trust issues right now and is relying too much on Dirk coming back. He changes the lineup way too much.

Yes, agree. More low post play. Hopefully, when Dirk gets back, this will stablilize the team and the defense will pull together. Certailnly, the offense will get a huge boost.
