08:06 AM ET 12.21 | In James Harden's departure, Kevin Martin had big shoes to fill once he landed in Oklahoma City. Harden had not only been the league's best reserve and one of Oklahoma City's best players, but he was also a fan favorite. Now, Martin was supposed to step into the same role and ensure that the Thunder didn't miss a beat. ... In fact, Martin is having so much fun in Oklahoma City that he could see himself signing a long-term deal with the Thunder this summer. Martin is in the final year of his contract and will become an unrestricted free agent after the season. According to sources, the Thunder has made it clear that they want to keep Martin beyond this season and the interest appears to be mutual. "Oh yeah," Martin said when asked if wants to stay in Oklahoma City long-term.

Well they better get on the ball with KMart, the kid has proved his worth, as though Harden didn't and you see how they eff that up. You have to spend in order to win.......OKC its just that simple..Apple!

Their plan was never to keep Martin, they were more interested in the young players they got and Martin's expiring contract. The only way Martin stays is if he takes a huge pay cut and we all know that isn't going to happen.

For OKC, he's proved to be a very effient scorer off the bench. Small sample size though and this is just the first quarter of the REGULAR season.

If he keeps this up, he'll get some money thrown his way I bet.

huh ?guy has been a consistent 20 pt scorer in the league for several years. He is a bonafide scorer, already has had a big contract and is not going to be taking less $ going forwardhe will get his 10-12 mil from someone

How dare you disagree with my stated opinion :)

I thought you were talking max money. He is worth 10 to 12 already. His stock will rise if he maintains this level in the playoffs.

Oh, and GO TWOLVES! Great win last night!

The Hawks have plenty cap space. I'll be OK getting KMart as a starting SG for 10$M per.
