MMA fighter gets 7 years in jail for assaulting cops

11:54 AM ET 12.21 | Nikolaos Boscarino was sentenced to seven years in jail on Thursday for an assault on police officers in August of 2011 in Ohio. According to court documents, Boscarino was outside of Taggart's Pub in Dayton when he was approached by officers to stop urinating in public. Boscarino and the officers got into an altercation, which put the three cops trying to arrest the fighter in a hospital. Officer Donnie Smith testified he received a concussion as a result of the incident and was released from the police force due to medical issues that prevents him from fulfilling the obligations of the job. Boscarino was initially found guilty on Nov. 2.
