06:18 AM ET 12.23 | Several teams have made offers for Giancarlo Stanton but none good enough for the Marlins front office to recommend to owner Jeffrey Loria. At least one Marlins baseball person believes the team should consider a deal, but he's not making the decisions.
This kid has already shown himself to be everything the Nationals expect Bryce Harper to be. He just turned 23 and he has 93 ML homeruns playing in a power robbing stadium. I don't know what the ceiling is on this kid, but it's extremely high.
So yes, it will take 4 to 5 top MLB ready prospects and even then he'll be a bargain. Anyone remember all those prospects Detroit traded for Cabrera? I do - barely.
I am still not sold on the belief that baseball cannot flourish in Miami. I mean, it just has to be marketed right to the people, most of whom love baseball.
As a devout Marlins fan, if Loria trades Stanton, that team will not draw flies as long as he is the owner. Sadly, he'll still make a fortune every year whether he fields little league or handicapped players due to local TV, National TV and luxury tax treasures he'll reap. He's the Donald Sterling (Clippers) of MLB. He should be shamed out of baseball and Miami for how he has treated his players, baseball, his team and his city. Unreal what he done, all legally, during his tenure here.

No. Propects are prospects and this kid is very young and a proven monster with the bat.

The only problem in keeping Stanton is he might lead the NL in walks next season because teams will pitch around him.

If you can trade this kid for a big package of five or six guys, maybe.

But the Marlins need a new owner badly.

That's where any kind of a rejuvenation in that market needs to start.
