Don Cherry says NHL will be back mid-January

10:07 PM ET 12.23 | It's been a rough time for hockey fans as they have had their hopes raised only to be let down once again by the NHL owners and Gary Bettman. Now, with the holiday season upon us, Don Cherry has a bit of optimism that should get hockey fans excited to turn their calendars to January 2013. Cherry had previously said he expected the entire 2012-13 season to be canceled, but he has changed his tune. He took to Twitter to announce his belief that the NHL could return mid-January.
