10:14 PM ET 12.23 | It appears all but certain that the Philadelphia Eagles will part ways with longtime head coach Andy Reid in the offseason. The move is expected to take place on New Year's Eve and the Eagles already have their top candidate to fill the void in their sights. ESPN's Chris Mortensen reported on Sunday NFL Countdown that the Eagles are targeting Oregon Ducks head coach Chip Kelly as their next head coach. At the end of November, rumors swirled that Eagles GM Howie Roseman flew out to the University of Oregon to meet with Kelly. It was the first sign of Philadelphia's interest in Kelly. "I've heard talk about (Eagles GM) Howie Roseman already meeting with (Oregon head coach) Chip Kelly," said one source for a Pro Football Weekly article featuring comments from NFL personnel members. "Obviously, there are no rules preventing a GM from talking to a college coach during a (school) visit."

Meh. I don't want some college coach. At the very least find one that runs a pro style offense.

Agreed. Philly would almost have to keep Vick to run Kelly's offense from the start.

College coaches don't translate to NFL success very often the first trip through. Kelly won't be any different.

This is a bad idea. Two or three years of Chip Kelly and we will be reminiscing about the good ole' Andy Reid years.

Damn, I thought he was a young, in-shape kind of guy. From that picture, two or three years of Philly cheese steaks will have him in the harbor right next to the HMS Andy.

We need a proven coach with a system that translates well for the NFL. I'd like to see Gruden, Billick, or, as a longshot, Cowher on the sidelines next season.

Gruden took a Tampa Bay team that Tony Dungy built and ran it into the ground.
Vastly overrated IMO.

I really want Bruce Arians as the next HC. What he did this year with the Colts and with the Steelers in the past, it shows that he has paid his dues and will bring some of that steelers knowledge to wherever he end up.

That's if Chip doesn't bolt back to the college game first, much like Saban and Petrino.
