Jury decided on Foles

07:31 AM ET 12.24 | Have six starts offered enough of a sample size for Nick Foles? Even with all the injuries on offense, the deficiencies on defense, and the general malaise hanging over a team with a lame-duck coach, the Eagles should be able to make an honest evaluation on whether [Foles] will be their starting quarterback next season. The trick, of course, will be making the correct evaluation. ... The worst-case scenario for the Eagles is to be stuck with a quarterback who is neither great nor bad, but somewhere in between. That's where most NFL quarterbacks fall, but [Howie Roseman] and the next coach have the opportunity to save the Eagles a year of uncertainty if they conclude that Foles is a middle man. After six starts, he sure looks like one.

The kid is being "protected" by four back-up offensive linemen, while throwing to back-up receivers... and the defense has been allowing over 30 points per game since the bye week.

What the hell do you expect from the kid? Put a team around him.

The Eagles are in for a massive overhaul. There goes the dynasty...

At least with Vince Young and Jason Babin gone... and soon to be Vick... they'll be free of the idiots who make those statements.

Foles will be the least of their problems, going forward.

They should be lucky enough to have a team full of guys as good as Foles. They'd be OK.

He's a rookie, thrown into the middle of the season on a team in freefall. He did well enough to deserve a shot at being the starter next year.

Philly juries are brutal, give the kid some talent to work with then decide

2013 will be a deep draft for line talent, weak draft for QBs and offensive play makers. Shore up the line.

Foles did pretty well with a second and third string offense. Give him an off-season to prepare as the starter, along with a first-string line and offense, and I'll be happy with that. My focus and attention would be on the defense, where no one's job is safe. The defense, mostly made up of starters, was pathetic, and had some of the worst tackling I've ever seen.

Apparently he played the entire second half of the Redskins game with a broken throwing hand.

The kid is tough as nails.

The Eagles ought to work on their O-Line and running backs in the off season and upcoming draft. Running the ball well can sure make a quarterback look good.

LeSean McCoy and Bryce Brown are a pretty nasty RB combo.

They just need to teach Brown to hold onto the ball.
