Roethlisberger's disappearing act

07:32 AM ET 12.24 | After the Steelers stumbled again, this time to the Bengals, Ben Roethlisberger fell on the sword, which teammate Ryan Clark said later was expected from "captains and quarterbacks." What you couldn't possibly have expected was that Roethlisberger would come up so small in such a big game. It wasn't just his interception in the final 24 seconds that led to the Bengals' 13-10 win or his interception in the first quarter that was returned for the Bengals' only touchdown. He was awful the whole game. ... What has happened to Roethlisberger? He hasn't been the same since his shoulder/rib injury in the Kansas City game Nov. 12. The Steelers are 0-3 since he came back after missing 3 1/2 games.

Maybe it's about time they fix that block of swiss cheese they've been pawning off as an offensive line.

December 24, 2012  08:47 AM ET

The Swiss cheese didn't throw the picks at the end of the Steelers' last two games. Big Ben has been making bad decisions and bad throws....and it ain't Todd Haley's fault either.

How do you make a 6' 5" and 241 lbs hombre disappear?

By making him the Steelers QB! :-)

That doesn't excuse the INT's that have cost the Steelers the last 2 games.

He came back too soon from his injury. It was a valiant effort, but the mechanics just weren't the same.

Maybe he's hurt and not injured. It might be worse than they're telling us and it's affecting the way he throws the ball.

Ben threw the picks, but the whole team has played poorly all season, poor coaching, poor running game , tons of drops by the receivers, turnovers, very poor performance by the defense on third and long plays, I could write a book. Bottom line, the playoffs should have been clinched weeks ago, by beating the likes of Oakland, Tennessee, Cleveland and San Diego.

Merry Christmas to all!

It's true enough that Ben hasn't been quite the same since the injury. Don't know what it is but clearly something is not quite right with him. Hey it's been a tough season, the team has struggled with injuries and other issues but there's always next year

They all need to just get healthy, draft a couple of O-Lineman and hit it next year.

They've drafted 4 olinemen in the past 3 seasons. Keeping them healthy is a different story

LOL True he's a winner, but many a great player fades away, but maybe he came back too quick from the ribs (joke here somewhere) because he doesn't look that comfortable these last couple games.
