Insecure Howard lacking vital quality

07:33 AM ET 12.24 | Forgive Lakers fans for wanting to see a little more Kobe Bryant in Dwight Howard. Howard stared basketball mortality in the dark eye and trembled the way you'd expect of someone who is basically insecure, someone so big and strong that he hasn't had much previous reason to sweat the challenges in front of him. Two and a half months after he talked about the nerve damage in his left leg from the disc problem, Howard is still dwelling on it. ... Meanwhile, his conditioning somehow remains so substandard that despite playing an entire quarter less than Nash in the point guard's first game back Saturday night, Howard said about overtime against Golden State: "I was tired as crap." A major reason the Lakers are 13-14 is, flat-out, Howard's lack of urgency.

Maybe the Raptors can trade their crap for for him! We are on a 4 game winning streak since he got injured. At least with Howard his salary would be off the books and the end of the season when he signs with Dallas.

Howard just needs to stay outta foul trouble.
Sure he may never be a good free throw shooter like The Dream was, but stay outta foul trouble big fella!

How will that solve the problem that he's out of shape? It actually works to his benefit by sitting on the bench and getting rest for the 4th quarter.

Impossible! He wants to block everything. What I wanna know is....how the hell could LeBron NOT be called for any fouls in a 2 week span? But I'm sure, because of the NBA's popularity contest, he'll be All-Defensive First Team.

That wouldn't matter because he's never been a factor in the 4th quarter....at least for the Lakers. He's always on the other team's agenda.

Hack-a-Howard.....

QUOTE(#11):

Of course. It's always been that way.

Yep. Sidney Crosby gets away with slashing people in the NHL. Bohnds never got a called 3rd strike. If Manning or Brady toss one out there the D will get a pass interference or there will be a roughing the kicker.

Hell, I'm still waiting for 2 or 3 guys from the Bulls to get called for hacking Charles Smith

And once Jordan retired for those 2 years the Knicks got all the calls against the Bulls

No need to worry Laker fans... this is expected. For someone coming back from major injury it's only natural the regular season becomes his conditioning platform. Come playoff time he'll be in prime shape and ready to go. Lakers will be where they deserve to be when it matters most.
