05:10 PM ET 12.24 | On Sunday, Carson Palmer took a nasty hit from the Panthers' Greg Hardy, forcing him from the game, and the final game of the season. Hardy was penalized for roughing the passer following the hit. Palmer remained in the game momentarily before being taken to the locker room where his status was unknown at the time. According to Paul Gutierrez, Palmer has some cracked ribs and a bruised lung. He returned to the Bay Area with the team, but stayed in a hospital overnight, notes Gutierrez. With Palmer down, Dennis Allen will announce his starting quarterback for the finale against the Chargers sometime this week.

It seems management hired a placeholder when they had no one in the wings getting ready to take over.

And Cincy is laughing their butts to the playoffs. Didn't Palmer want out because the Bengals were never that good? Bengals have looked pretty good since he left town.

Palmer had one last cash grab but it's time to hang up your cleats. He's like a statue back there.

Yup..also i find it funny how he didnt get BLASTED in the media for basically quitting on his team and forcing his way out of Cincy. If that had been Vick or someone like that, he would have got hammered but Carson was "excused" bc Cincy wasnt improving. Maybe it was him as the reason they sucked. KARMA BABY!! HAHAHA

The hit was 100% legal. The ball was in Palmer's hands when he got hit. The hit wasn't high or low and it wasn't with the helmet.
