08:20 AM ET 12.25 | Slowing Oregon won't be easy for Kansas State, but having free safety Ty Zimmerman in the lineup sure would help. Zimmerman injured his leg in the fourth quarter of the Wildcats' victory at TCU on Nov. 10 and without him the next week they suffered their only loss at Baylor. Kansas State coach Bill Snyder closely guards injury information and wouldn't say if Zimmerman will be available to play when the No. 7 Wildcats face No. 5 Oregon in the Fiesta Bowl on Jan. 3, but he has been practicing. "We'd like to think he'll be on the field," Snyder said on Dec. 19. The possible return of Zimmerman, a junior co-captain, would not only be an emotional boost but a big help to the Wildcat defense as it lines up against the potent Oregon offense.
