08:21 AM ET 12.25 | Outside of what happened to him on the football field, South Bend was pretty good to Dayne Crist. [Crist] is not second-guessing his decision to have transferred out as a grad student for the 2012 season. ... One pro scout said he thought Crist regressed over his college career, surmising that injuries might've had something to do with it or a lack of confidence. Maybe both. "He's definitely got some good physical tools and I know he's very bright, but he struggled with his accuracy and looked less and less comfortable out there," said the scout. Crist still is optimistic he can play in the NFL. He's never been one to lament things or dwell on the negative, he says.

I Think it is too bad for Dayne ... it seems to me he was kind of unlucky and that contributed to his loss of confidence. He just never played like a kid who was a master of his domain (not intended to refer to the Seinfeld sense of the term).

Sort of a non story. A so-so college QB still thinks he can make it in the NFL. Why is this news? Does Crist think he is the first marginal college QB to harbor NFL dreams without there being much justification for them?
And Merry Christmas to all.

I'd like to introduce you to my marginal college friends. Mr Doug Flutie, Mr Doug Willams (Super Bowl MVP) Mr Curt Warner who was bagging groceries when he got the call, Steve Young, held the clip board for Montana for eight years. How about Aaron Rogers, Tom Brady, Bernie Kosar or Jim Plunkett. I could go on and on about guys cobsidered so-so college QB's but why waste my time on someone who couldn't make it a a boy scout let alone a pro football talent scout.
