08:06 AM ET 12.26 | Adrian Peterson will need an awfully big day to get there. [Peterson] needs 208 rushing yards against Green Bay this Sunday to break Eric Dickerson's NFL record of 2,105. With one game left in the regular season, breaking that record is a pretty formidable task. And yet the fact that Peterson had 210 rushing yards when the Packers played the Vikings at Lambeau Field Dec. 2 is on the mind of every Packers defender. ... "He's a great guy. I've gotten to know him outside of football," said Packers linebacker Clay Matthews. "You'd love to see a guy who has worked so hard and has overcome so much to win that crown -- but ultimately that is against our defense. I don't think any of us want to see that happen. We'll do our best to try and contain him."

That's true and I don't think they can stop Peterson either. Better run defenses than theirs have focused on Peterson and couldn't stop him. However, I think they care more about winning than about stopping Peterson. That said, I'd hate to see another 'Favre laying down for Strahan to get the record' type deal.
