Lions taking new approach with Megatron

08:07 AM ET 12.26 | Calvin Johnson nearly set a record this past weekend, thanks to compiling 225 receiving yards without scoring a touchdown, which serves as part of an unwelcome downward trend in Johnson's TDs (from an NFC-leading 16 last year to five this season). Because Johnson demands so much attention on the goal line -- usually two or more defenders -- Leshoure (nine rushing TDs), quarterback Matthew Stafford (four) and others have emerged as red-zone producers. But that's sometimes to the detriment of the team. In last week's 31-18 loss to the Falcons, the Lions ran 12 plays from inside the Atlanta 20 and threw just one pass to Johnson, a third-and-1 incompletion from the 2 late in the fourth quarter when the Falcons brought three extra rushers and left Johnson single covered.

It's way too late for a new approach now.

Calvin Johnson is not the problem. How about playing a little defense and holding on to the ball?

QUOTE(#8):

The Lions have more in place than most teams. Good QB. Top receiver. RBs. Decent O line. Strong interior D linemen. They need some help in the secondary and LB corps, and they'll be ok.

Don't forgegt a new coach too, thats the main issue..their gameplan

It's kind of pathetic how poorly the rest of the Lions offense operates in the red zone when Calvin Johnson is consistently drawing double coverage near the goal line.
