Irish turns weakness to strength

08:21 AM ET 12.26 | It wasn't all that long ago that Zack Martin felt all the heat Notre Dame's offensive line was taking. Whether that feeling came from self-reflection or was spawned as a motivational tool from first-year Irish offensive line coach Harry Hiestand didn't matter. With Hiestand came a mission: to restore the pride back to the Irish trenches. And the senior left tackle set his sights on being a leader of the revolution. "The offensive line at Notre Dame the last however many years has kind of been the whipping boy of the team," Martin said. "It's time to change that. I don't think we could have gotten a better guy to help us." The linemen have responded accordingly. The unit has allowed the least amount of sacks (16) of any group in the last four years and cleared the way for the most rushing yards in that same period.

I guess it is finally out, though I cannot imagine how. Golson has a crush on a Vandy cheerleader which is approaching unhealthy stalker fixation. If she doesn't respond to his stream of communication, it could mess up his head and his game. Purportedly, REC is offering her free and clear a fully restored manse on Belmont (Nashville) and a tricked out Camaro if she'll freeze out Golson hard and quick without any explanation.

It helps to have a mobile QB in keeping the sacks down.
ND O-line is doing its job, both in pass protection and in opening up running lanes. Very impressive turn-around.
Take ND and the points for as good a sure thing as you will find in a NC game.
