Cutler tired of constant OC turnover

08:04 AM ET 12.26 | Quarterback Jay Cutler faces a return, yet again, to the drawing board. Faced with potentially having to adjust to a fourth offensive coordinator going into his fifth season as a Chicago Bear, [Cutler] said Monday that kind of inconsistency at the position is a significant challenge for an offense. "It's hard for an offense and as a quarterback to get to where you want to be and be consistent on a weekly basis if you're changing coordinators every couple of years," Cutler said on "The Jay Cutler Show" on ESPN 1000. "That's a reality. I think it's an overlooked fact." Under Mike Tice, the Bears rank 28th in total offense and have averaged just 14 points a game over their last seven games.

Earth to Cutler... You are one of the main reasons your OC's can't keep their job. You hold the ball too long, make poor decisions and since you are the $ man, they get rid of the cordinator. Cuz it just can't be you now can it?

You're right, their O line does stink. Wouldn't you think a smart QB would recognize that by now and realize he has to get rid of the ball quicker? Cutler is looking more and more like a million dollar arm and a 10 cent head.

OK, but if you were to ask Cutler which one of those many OC he wish were there and he would like to work with for the next ten years, I doubt he could answer it.
There have been two constants in all that turnover: Lovie and Jay....and I suspect they both had a lot of input over that position.

He has one dependable WR to work with, and every team schemes against that. The funny thing is that when he's not getting rid of the ball quicker (which is a pretty good indicator that no one is open), he catches hell for it. When he does unload the ball too fast, it can just as easily end up as an INT for the opposition. The guy has the to get the job done, and I think he's smart enough to get the job done, but how many so-called "elite" QBs have only one WR and no O-line to work with?

Hard to do that when u can barely get your plant foot set to throw...not a Bears or Cutler fan but an objective fan here...The guy gets no time to throw and has 1 WR to work with. How many QBs can be successful like that? Not to mention youu have a former O-lineman as ur OC...good one

Also, take into consideration who his OCs have been since he's been in Chicago. The only one with remotely any credibility was Mike Martz. The problem with Martz was that it took him seven games to figure out that with the Bears O-line, the plays that he was calling allowed zero protection for the QB, which resulted on a ridiculous number of sacks. That scenario happened both years Martz was the OC. And now Cutler has Tice to work with... Chicago is paying good money for Cutler's services, and they are not really spending any extra $$$$$ to fortify the offense around him (Brandon Marshall came cheap from the Dolphins, who simply wanted him off the roster).

Norv would not be a bad hire for OC. He has a solid history of developing QBs. However, he would look at the the roster and demand that the Bears invest in an O-line and another WR who could stretch the field... and one who is in his prime right now, not one who could do that sort of thing five seasons ago.

Norv's going to be attractive to a whole bunch of teams looking for an OC. I would say that Chicago would interest him. So would Detroit. I'd take him back here in a heartbeat although I don't envision Jerrah doing that.

Get rid of the ball quicker? To whom? Except for Marshall, the Bears receivers are a worthless bunch of morons who can't catch or hold on to the football if their life depended on it! Sheyet hands they have, including Hester, who shouldn't even be used as a receiver.

Agreed, 100%. I always thought the Bears misguided mission to convert Hester to a #1 WR was the ultimate act of penny-pinching. They were squandering the talents of a special teams monster to save a few bucks on bringing in a legit wideout.
