10:56 AM ET 12.26 | Chicago Bears running back Matt Forte aggravated his ankle injury Sunday against Arizona, but he still expects to play against the Detroit Lions in Week 17. Despite being in a walking boot following the game, Forte told reporters he couldn't see himself missing Sunday's game. The Bears are still very much in playoff contention, but have to beat Detroit to have a shot at the final NFC Wild Card slot. Chicago could also get a boost from Brian Urlacher, as it's possible the linebacker could return after missing three games. Urlacher worked out prior to Sunday's game in Arizona.

Anything can happen in the playoffs but I don't see the Bears or the Vikes going too far this year.

''Have to beat Detroit" If the Bears lose to the Lions they don't deserve playoff consideration.

I think the Lions have talent, just no focus

If you can walk this week you play because you have all the off season to heal if you are the Bears and lose.

Plus many injuries in the backfield, lost many close games, Stafford had a bad year.

The Bears HAVE to win this game. That said, I could see Detroit pulling the upset.
Urlacher needs to be on the field to help the Bears.
If the Bears get in, they are not consistent enough to win three straight to get to the Super Bowl. Maybe an upset in the wild card game, but then they'd be done...if they get to the playoffs at all.

They don't deserve playoff consideration regardless. They just aren't good enough to beat anybody that matters.

That's what it will boil down to, unfortunately. That 7-1 start was fun while it lasted, but the NFC North's stats were fattened up by playing a poor AFC South this season. Clobbering teams like the Titans and Jags isn't an indicator of how good a team might be.

Even at his age and playing hurt, Urlacher will help them. Unfortunately, the same can't be said of their "Peanut Brittle" RB. He's just a hurt looking for a place to happen.

Nice... haven't heard that one before.

Why do people seem to think Forte is brittle? He's missed just 6 games in a 5 year career. That's only one more than Adrian Peterson in that span - is he brittle?
Certainly the ankle injury has definitely hampered Forte this year, but he's still just 9 yards shy of 1000 yards rushing and should be around 1400 yards from scrimmage. Not a bad season, but not at the level he showed in 2011 either.

The Bears really choked this year, and Urlacher became a boring whiner.
The idiot cuts down Cutler, yet kisses Lovie's butt like a lamprey. He play is deteriorating, he's hurt all the time...time to retire, Brian. Chicago fans are in for years of a bad rebuilding team.

I see the Vikes getting in with a packer loss. The bears are done then I think. If the Vikes win they get into the playoffs. That's why they moved the game to late afternoon so we would know if the bears won or not.
