So, what you're saying is, that QBs are more valuable than other positions...huh.

December 26, 2012  03:26 PM ET

Wow. And punters and kickers are less valuable? Whoa.

December 26, 2012  04:58 PM ET

Anthony Spencer gonna get a nice chunk of change.

December 26, 2012  05:37 PM ET

No one worth franchising in Pittsburgh....

December 26, 2012  06:14 PM ET

Wouldn't have thought a defensive end was that valuable? Punters and kickers were about right.

The franchise tag number is based on the highest salaries at that position. So, when Buffalo made the mistake of giving a gazillion dollars to Mario Williams, it really skewed the numbers for defensive ends. Likewise, the Megatron deal jacked up the dollars for wide receivers. Megatron has at least done something for the money. Williams has been DOA in Buffalo.

Nice to see OL creeping up in value; they have been under-appreciated for a while. TE seems to be under-rated, but that may change when Gronk signs a contract.
