04:18 PM ET 12.26 | The LSU Tigers have been a charter member of the Southeastern Conference since 1933, but all good things must come to an end, and there is always room for change. LSU often feels that the SEC office ignores their needs and concerns, so could it be time to finally leave the conference that they have been a part of for so long? Scott Rabalais of The Advocate believes just that. He writes that now is the time for LSU to consider leaving the SEC and perhaps joining forces with the Big XII. Why would LSU want to leave the SEC? Here are the five points for the change in conference and some highlights from his explanations.

Idiocy. The idea, the reasoning...the whole article...idiocy.
Why would a team, ANY team, leave the SEC? Belonging to that conference, in and of itself, guarantees your team the benefit of the doubt with the media, the polls, recruits, etc.
So LSU has to play UF every year...so what? So do we, and you don't hear us cryin' about it.

Leave the thriving SEC for the dying Big 12.....nope don't think that is going to happen. Alabama is going to destroy Notre Dame and keep the SEC dominance alive.

I love how the guy implies we get help from the SEC which is a veiled reference at how "the refs are cheating for Alabama!!!111111" When it is so easy to debunk that it just makes me laugh.

dont know what ur talking about.....its all about recruiting ....lsu knows that tamu stole their recruiting juice by coming into sec, winning, and now dominating se texas...so lsu will return the favor by coming into big 12, trying to beat ou and ut, then stealing se texas back from tamu.....besides big 12 right now is better than sec and the gap wil grow.....just ask tamu.....

So basically the writer is saying that Alabama = TU and LUS = TAMU as in the BigXII drama?
Not seeing it...looks like, to me, the writer is just trying to make something out of nothing. There was a time when Tenn was relevant and Florida wasn't...it is reversed now, but could change back (not in the foreseeable future, but at sometime)

I'm not seeing how this is turned into a Bama thing...but let me ask this...why did the conference put TAMU in the Cotton instead of LUS?
I mean LUS and TAMU have the same record (with LUS winning H2H) and LUS is ranked higher, so why are they in a "lesser" bowl?

No idea. I wish I worked in the SEC offices and brought down the money they are bringing down.

Damn good question. The only thing I can think of, is that the Aggies beat Bama. If Bama would have won that game, Texas A&M would have been lucky to get into the "Toilet" bowl.

"Is it time for LSU to leave the SEC?" is the title but the real question is whose clock are they using?
