06:36 PM ET 12.26 | Los Angeles Clippers guard Chris Paul was nominated for a key postseason award by an opposing team's coach on Christmas, but it wasn't the award you'd expect. "I think Chris Paul right now -- I know this might sound crazy -- I think he's the defensive player of the year," Denver Nuggets coach George Karl said prior to the Clippers' 112-100 win. "I think he's an incredible defender. I think he gets the ball, causes pressure." The Clippers' defense has risen to third in the league in points allowed per 100 possessions, and Paul's ability to help generate turnovers and get the Clippers on the break has been a big reason why.

If the season ends today, CP3 should be MVP. But James will get that again this time anyway.
