Pro Bowl's most eggregious snub

08:03 AM ET 12.27 | With the naming of every Pro Bowl team comes the annual and inevitable carping about which players have the most legitimate argument over being left off -- so, who is it this year? 1. Richard Sherman, Seattle Seahawks cornerback. ... Was this punishment for Sherman's potential suspension or just a grievous oversight? Sherman was eligible to make the NFC team, but voters must have taken his reported positive drug test into consideration. Most seasons, Sherman would be a candidate for NFL Defensive Player of the Year. It's an absolute joke that Patrick Peterson made the NFC team over Sherman. Peterson is a very talented cornerback and improved this season for the Arizona Cardinals, but his play was too up and down.

The 49ers will tell you that Sherman deserves it.

The voters already forgot about Sherman. Guess they miss their Adderall, too.

I find anything, even naming players to a non pro bowl egregious.

This is the year there should be an " All Adderall " team. If it makes the writer feel better then Sherman is on it.

It just shows the rest of the world realize Sherman is overrated and gets away with more Defensive holding then anybody in the league... Can't grab your way into the pro bowl...

The All Adderall Team would destroy the Pro Bowl Team on a neutral field, provided they can have their medicine back.

Now that game I might watch. The last pro bowl game I partly watched had phil simms in it.

The Southerners never forget the name Sherman, not one vote.

The joke is the Pro Bowl game itself. It's purposely set up to fail, being the week before the SB. At least it's back in Hawaii, where it belongs but it's unfair that the nominated players on SB teams are shut out from a nice holiday they've earned. There's no reason to wedge it in before the SB unless they ultimately want to kill it.

Ah yes, I remember falling asleep watching a Pro Bowl with Simms in it. I'm still sleeping. Pro Bowls are more boring than watching a filibuster on C-Span.

Agreed. The only reason any player would be concerned about being snubbed for a game nobody, not even the players, care about, is if he has cash incentives in his contract tied to pro bowl selection.

Sherman missed it because of the drugs
