02:44 PM ET 12.27 | The Seattle Seahawks received some great news on Thursday that will help their chances to advance through the playoffs. Star cornerback Richard Sherman was waiting for word on whether or not his appeal of a four-game suspension would be won, and today he passed along the news that the appeal was successful. "I won," Sherman wrote on Twitter. "I want to send a special Thank you to my lawyers Maurice Suh and Heather McPhee couldn't have done it without them." The news is a major boost for the Seahawks and will significantly increase their chances to make a run.

Thank you to my lawyers Maurice Suh. Hmmm, now I know another Suh stays out of trouble.

QUOTE(#2):

This is big. Sherman is a big part of the 'Hawks' D.I don't think they'll win more than once in the playoffs, but no team should want to face them right now. I think the first-round game between the Seahawks and whomever (probably the Bears or Vikes) will be a good one, but reality will set in when they leave Seattle for Green Bay, San Fran or Atlanta.

Pete Carroll's head will start doing 360's and it will all be over once they leave Seattle. It'll be fun watching him implode though.

All he did was use the 'Ryan Braun' defense, everybody still knows he's a cheater.

So its "I won" not "I didn't do it". Good guy Sherman.

He was tested again right after the appeal decision was announced. We'll see how it goes this time. I expect extra care will be taken the second time around.

The only thing that saved him was plausible deniability.
