10:34 PM ET 12.27 | Calvin Johnson ran himself into the record books last week and is trying to become the first wide receiver ever to crack 2,000 yards. But long before he was breaking records, he was breaking hearts all over NFL defenses with his skill and talent. Charles Tillman, a guy who sees Johnson more than most in the league, says that Johnson isn't just the best wide receiver in the game today, he's the LeBron James of the NFL. Johnson needs to finish the Lions' season finale against the Chicago Bears on Sunday with 108 yards to finish the season with at least 2,000 yards. No receiver in the history of the NFL has ever accomplished that feat, and all eyes are on Johnson to be the one. But while history is in the making, Johnson and the Lions say that records are cool but winning is better.

I guess now all he has to do is mealy mouth a bunch of lame excuses and self justifications for why he left to fulfill this epic comparison.

I was thinking that he meant that Megatron was about to move to Miami...

Does that mean he's skipping town to play for a contender, and announcing it on a cheesy ESPN special?
Nah, Johnson is too classy for that. In fact, he's probably the only classy player the Lions have.

The Lions have a talented QB, the best WR in the game, the best DT in the game, and a few other assets. They should not be sucky.
Last year they made the playoffs. They're not far away. They need tweaking, not rebuilding.

The difference in class and humility is too astounding to compare the two. Did Johnson get dunked on by a college player at his camp and then have the video taken? Thank goodness for phone cameras ;)

Isn't it funny how James could go from a hated, whiney, selfish ahole to the sportsman of the year simply by winning a championship?

I don't see how comparing someone to LeBron James is a compliment though, championship ring or not.
