Kings on the verge of toxic mix?

08:12 AM ET 12.28 | Entering the weekend, Sacramento finds itself returning to a chemistry class of sorts with Keith Smart and DeMarcus Cousins. Monitoring when Cousins plays is one thing. The relationship between and Cousins and Smart is something else to watch. Smart made progress in building a relationship with Cousins after the center's strained relationship with Paul Westphal. ... Smart has to be wary of the same situation Westphal dealt with. Not that he'll be fired, as Westphal was after his final spat with Cousins. But with the Kings at 9-19 the locker room is already on edge after every loss. Add an important and angry player to that, the mix could be toxic. Also add that Cousins is very big on loyalty.

QUOTE(#11):

I don't see the Kings making this deal only b/c the make up of this team.... They're extremely too young to add a player like Varejao. He's great and his talent far surpasses anyone that Varejao could compliment.... Kings need to stay young for a bit and add to what they want to keep. They're gonna have to build through the draft. Free agency isn't going to treat this team good at all. So I say Varejao to Kings is highly unlikely.

I know... but it's how bad the Kings want to let Cousins go. If it happened with the Clips and Baron (that got the Cavs Iriving), why not try it again one more time with the Kings?

I said yesterday on a diff thread, the best deal for the Kings is with the Hawks.
Cousins, Evans, and a pick for Josh Smith and Jenkins.
