08:08 AM ET 12.28 | Only a week ago, there was some speculation about whether John Wall's season might already be over, but optimism took over Thursday. The Wizards still don't have a definitive timeline for [Wall's] return, but Coach Randy Wittman is encouraged that his injured point guard has targeted a comeback some time next month and continues to make progress with his rehabilitation. Wall was cleared to "ramp up" his level of activity on his troublesome left knee two weeks ago and Wittman said the former No. 1 overall pick was able to do five-on-none, "dummy," offensive and defensive drills with the team for the first time during Thursday's practice. "That's a step forward," Wittman said. "Obviously, no contact still yet but he did full speed, up and down."

Do they really want him back now? I mean they're on their way to the top draft pick again anyway.

Another fragile young player. Memo to the next would be star: STAY IN SCHOOL, GET YOUR EDUCATION, LET YOUR BODY AND YOU MIND CAUGHT UP WITH THE LIFE YOU ARE TRYING TO OBTAIN. THE MONEY WILL ALWAYS BE THERE IS YOU ARE AS GOOD AS YOU THINK! I'm just saying.
