I'd have to agree. Smoak hasn't shown much so far, other than an ability to strike out.

Smoak is young, and has had good spurts in Seattle. He is still salvageable, but is not going to be a star.

A change of scenery may help, so a Smoak-for-No. 3 or 4 starter makes sense for both teams.

Smoak for Matusz?

With all of the other teams in their division making noise and improvements to their clubs the O's or either sleeping through the off season or they think they are good enough to repeat 2012 again in 13.

....davis is better than smoak with the glove at 1b, and davis found his stroke last year, very similar to the big swing of his idol hambone, so this ideal s not gonna happen

but but the orioles have fall in love with the player Smoak, should the mariners take the offer into consideration, the orioles shouldn't blame the mariners for Smoak inability to hit!!!

its a posibility the orioles do wanted to trade for Smoak for the DH spot, but the orioles would need to work hard in Smoak timming hitting!!!

Translation: The O's may want Smoak, but he has to hit better than a little ****.

Smoak has been a flop so far with the M's, so he might be available cheap (especially after the addition of Morales), and he might yet pan out big time. Low risk, high reward. I think the M's will keep him one more year--it seems like he starts to hit, then something happens--personal tragedy, injury, whatever. Might give it one more year before declaring him snakebit and moving on.

Or maybe they trade him for Justin Upton, straight up. Up and down play, mostly down, for steady average play. "But look at the upside!"

What the hell? Why in the hell would Arizona trade Upton for Smoak? One, Zona already has a first baseman, and secondly, Upton is a hot commodity, and Smoak has sucked. Jeez, that doesn't even make sense. Alacran makes better proposals than that ****.
