04:03 PM ET 12.28 | The San Francisco 49ers have officially placed WR Mario Manningham (knee) on injured reserve, ending his 2012 season. The move is more of a formality as Manningham tore his ACL and PCL in the Sunday night blowout against Seattle. The 49ers promoted DT Tony Jerod-Eddie from the practice squad to take his place. Manningham finishes his season with 42 catches for 449 yards and one touchdown.

Tough injury to come back from. I hope he is able to come back, but I still think he's a punk for the disparaging comments he made about Eli Manning when he left New York.

Well if the 49ers, who have to be one of the favorites, win it, they still get a ring.

Oh how I wish it was coming down to Seahaws-Niners THIS week. For all the marbles in the West. But nooooo, I have to hope the Cards beat the Niners. With about as much confidence and conviction as I feel when I buy a lotto ticket.

Only the ACL and PCL? No problem, get him out there. Let him finish the season. Oh, he can't walk and is in a casts. Then I guess his missing the rest of the season ain't news after all.

They got a DT to replace Manningham?
