Dolphins prepared to move on without Jake Long

08:38 AM ET 12.30 | Miami is averaging more yards per rushing attempt without Jake Long in the lineup (4.6) than with him (3.8). And there's no difference in sacks allowed per game, either. That's why -- barring a change of heart -- the Dolphins are prepared to move on without Long, unless he takes a Miami offer that likely would be topped by other suitors in free agency. The ball will be in Long's court about whether he's willing to take less to sign here. The odds are against that, but we'll see.

He was supposed to be the keystone, the left tackle that nobody got through to the QB. That piece that built this franchise once again.....Oh, Well. Such is life.

Dallas could use a competent lineman. Doesn't have to be a stud, just competent would help.

Miami is at least $25 to $30 million under the cap for next year. The cowboys and giants and a few others are over the 2013 cap as of today. Lots of changes to be made to even consider signing a guy like Long.
