12:18 PM ET 12.30 | Adrian Peterson needs 208 rushing yards in Sunday's season finale at home against the Green Bay Packers to break the all-time single-season rushing record. But count current record-holder Eric Dickerson among those who don't think Peterson will get it. "No, I don't," Dickerson told NFL Network on Sunday morning, while also acknowledging that Peterson certainly has the ability to get the yardage necessary to break the record. Dickerson also acknowledged that he doesn't want to see his record fall, telling the NFL Network, "Anybody [with a record] who says ???all records are made to be broken,' that's a lie."

Dickerson should have quit after 8 years. In the old days that was plenty, and I think he would have a better attitude toward the league now. Of course as with any player he should have never dabbled in the dark arts with the Crypt Keeper. That would give anybody a bad attitude.

Why would anyone want another person to break your record? Why would anyone think bad of Dickerson for stating what any sane and self respecting competitor would say and feel about losing a record? This is stupid...of course he wants to maintain the record! Anyone that had a record like that and stated to media that they wanted some other dude to have his name in the books for the same achievement is not only lying but totally a fraud and a loser.

Egotistical jerk. He should have the class to acknowledge another's achievements. Go AP!

Well Eric, so you escaped by 9 yards. You are still the All-Time record holder...and my hero! You were such an awesome runner in the NFL, as well as at SMU!

I'm sure AP will be happy to take the playoff payoff over the record.

Eric was an outstanding running back, his record at some point in time will be broken, but whoever does it will also be a great running back!
