05:52 PM ET 12.30 | Adrian Peterson is currently on his way to one of the most remarkable comeback seasons in NFL history, and it just so happens he's on the verge of having one of the best seasons by a running back ever in the history of the game. But while he chases Eric Dickerson's single season record a little over a year since tearing his knee to shreds, Peterson isn't going to stop with just the record. The man's not even stopping at football, as Peterson has come out and stated he hopes to qualify for the 2016 Olympics in Rio as a member of the Track and Field team.

Personally, I'd put him down for synchronized swimming. He'd have a better chance.

A 31 year old, 217 pound sprinter with bad knees. Doesn't sound possible but if anyone can do it AD can.

He's big and strong and in great shape but, there's more to T&F than being big and strong. Nice to dream though.

Only if there's a one on one tackling drill before the 100 meters.

I'm not at all convinced he could do that, but if I came back from that kind of an injury that fast and did what HE did this year, I'd probably believe I could do anything.
