Suns still interested in Gordon (they're not alone)

08:15 AM ET 12.31 | Now that Eric Gordon has returned, so will the question of whether he wants to stay in New Orleans. A lot of folks in the know speculated Gordon didn't want the Hornets to match [Phoenix's contract] offer, that he wanted to play for the Suns. If true, that's interesting. It's not like the Suns are in a considerably better place than the Hornets, or that Gordon would get the ball more in Phoenix. Still, the Hornets matched the offer. Then Gordon missed the first 29 games, and everyone assumed he wanted a trade. And maybe he does. If so, the Suns are still very interested (although by NBA rules, they would have to wait until July). So are the Indiana Pacers. One GM even suggested the Oklahoma City Thunder should make a play.

Hyperbole....OKC wasn't willing to break the bank for Harden. They certainly won't do it for a injury prone Gordon. I love this kid's game. But, OKC is a reach.Chicago, Suns, Pacers, Barfcats, Kings seems more likely.

Significantly that "one GM" wasn't Sam Presti, I'd be willing to bet.

Now that Gordon has his max contract his price became too high to trade. The Hornets GM is too shrewd to let him get away without getting quality in return. It's going to be either lottery picks or an established player if you want to get Gordon. Good teams won't be able to absorb the salary cap hit. OKC is a financial non-starter.

Memo to NOLA, make the trade, save your money. Get something for the future. And if possible, gut them in the process, but that's just me! Eric Gordon is gutless and worthless in my opinion!
